A Look at the Past: History of Concussions

With the earliest recorded observations noted in the Edwin Smith Papyrus around 1600 BCE, concussions have been recognized and studied since ancient times. From mystical explanations and crude treatments like trepanation in Ancient Egypt, to scientific inquiry during the Renaissance and modern imaging breakthroughs in the 20th century, much has been learned–and yet there is still no known cure.

A Look Toward the Future: Milestones That Matter.

BBT-101 is currently being used in a Phase Ib/IIa trial for emergency room patients, with a second trial in collegiate athletes on deck. Furthermore, Beyond Barriers Therapeutics was 1 of 10 companies selected out of over 1,000 that SOCOM works with, to participate in the Special Operation Forces Venture Pilot Program. The company is also supported by the NFLPA and the Department of Defense, both of whom are investing in next-gen concussion care.
